At the forefront of cancer research, MUSC Hollings Cancer Center is one of 71 National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers in the nation and the only one in South Carolina. The cancer center comprises more than 120 renowned physicians and scientists and 60 sub-specialists across more than 20 academic departments who join forces to study and treat cancer from all angles.
Hollings’ mission is to reduce the cancer burden in South Carolina and nationally through innovative research, exceptional education and training, multidisciplinary patient care, statewide cancer prevention programs, and progressive public policy transformation.
The center has an annual research funding portfolio of more than $44 million and more than 200 clinical trials to help get the latest scientific discoveries to where they matter most: in clinics for the benefit of cancer patients.
